Associate professor at the institut supérieur de l’aéronautique et de l’espace (ISAE-Supaero), member of electronics, optronics and signal department (DEOS). My research takes place in the signal, communication, antennas and navigation (SCAN) team.

Ph.D. in signal processing and telecommunications (Université de Grenoble, 2012), qualified in 61th section. Engineer in telecommunications and networks (TELECOM Bretagne, 2009).

 Research activities

My research topics are mainly in the field of high capacity satellite communications. In particular, my interests are in the following axes :

  • “faster than Nyquist” transmission ;
  • interference mitigation techniques (iterative methods, precoding schemes) ;
  • multicarrier transmission techniques.

Illustration of the increase of the signaling rate beyond the Nyquist criterion. A sinc-shaped signal with constant bandwidth B is plotted in time and in frequency. Notice that intersymbol interference (ISI) appears when the density is greater than one.

 Teaching activities

Traitement du signal,
Supaero, 1st and 2nd year.
Elementary signal processing tools such as spectral analysis, filter design, random processes, estimation are introduced through practical applications.
Fonctions électroniques pour les télécommunications,
Supaero, 2nd year.
This unit is focused on basic electronic building blocks for information transmission. Analog and digital modulations are studied along with their implementation schemes.
Communications aéronautiques,
Specialized Master TERA.
Signal processing aspects of aeronautical communications are developed. It includes VHF/UHF channel modeling, analog voice modulations (amplitude, frequency), digital transmission systems (ACARS, VDL 2).
Harmonisation en traitement du signal,
Specialized Master TERA.
Basic tools of signal processing are reviewed through a project-based learning (PBL) approach. Practice labs using Matlab are realized.
Communications numériques,
Supaero, 3rd year.
Common tools of signal processing are reviewed and used in order to present bases of digital communications. Advanced aspects such as synchronization and equalization are also studied.
Projets de recherche,
Supaero, 2nd year.
One or more projects are proposed each year in the field of signal processing for digital communications. They are usually related to ongoing research topics.
Projets d’approfondissement,
Supaero, 3rd year.
Several projects are proposed each year in the field of digital communications. They are realized by teams of 3 to 6 students and usually related to software defined radio (see the RALF project below).

Coming soon : basics of communications (2nd year)...

 Projects and funding

The RAdio Logicielle pour la Formation (RALF) project has been carried out by the University of Toulouse (IDEX Toulouse Ingénierie 2014) and ISAE-Supaero (own funds) in order to promote software defined radio techniques in several engineering trainings. Total : 36 k€. Duration : 2014-2016.
The grant from the University of Toulouse IDEX Nouveaux Entrants is intended to help researchers and professors newly arrived in Toulouse. The grant can be used to facilitate national and international cooperation, buy equipments... Total : 10 k€. Duration : 2014-2017.
